WMCA Board Minutes 1-11-2009 (cont.)
Joe Volz offered to contact Ed Lulie, Chief Dine, Sue Hecht, and Galen Clagett for the March 18 and May 20 WMCA General Meetings. He stated that he would let Carol Goldstein know as soon as possible about their confirmations so that she could write the material for the Mill Monitor. Judy Haines also offered to contact a potential speaker from Fort Detrick on Medical Intelligence for the November 18 meeting.
IX. Change in Structure of General Meetings
The Board of Directors agreed that the Business Section did not have to be a part of every WMCA General Meeting. They also agreed that the Treasurer’s Report would not be given at each WMCA General Meeting.
X. Discussion of Process for Candidate’s Forum
It was decided to explore having the Candidate’s Forum at the September 16 WMCA General Meeting if the Primary Election Date would make it feasible to implement it at this meeting. Joe Volz and Thomas Schuerger volunteered to co-chair this event as either a WMCA General Meeting Event or an extra Panel Discussion Event. Joe Volz stated that he would inform us of the Primary and General Election dates.
XI. Discussion: Review for Need for Panel Discussions
The following topics were offered as possible panel discussions:
Security
Education (Superintendent of Schools, Principals of the Walkersville
Schools)
Education for Seniors
Growth near Monocacy Boulevard
Growth Problems that affect Worman’s Mill More
